Children’s eyecare is extremely important. Research has shown that up to a quarter of children have vision problems. The development of visual skills such as focusing, eye movement and depth perception play an important role in children’s learning from pre-school onwards.
The co-ordination and focusing of the eyes are vital to a child’s ability to read, concentrate and understand.
Many learning problems can be associated even with minor eye defects. Eye conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye) cannot be treated effectively over the age of 8, so it is crucial to get children’s eyes tested early and regularly.
